Testing of phenolic yellowing, or color fastness in contact with perspiration, water and seawater. The perspirometer test is used to test color fastness of textiles to contact with perspiration, water and seawater, and to predict phenolic yellowing of white or pastel colored textiles. A package of test pieces, separated by acrylic or glass slides, is clamped under a prescribed pressure. The test pieces are then placed in an incubator according to a prescribed time and temperature. Then the results are assessed.
